Archaeological Museum

Museum and Archaeological Sites of Cimiez

The Archaeological Museum of Cimiez was built in 1989 on the hill of Kemenelon (or Cemenelum as it was called in Latin).

In ancient times, Roman baths were built on this site and they are extremely well preserved. Today, we can admire them as well as the many associated objects found during excavations.

The museum exhibits include potteries, jewels, tools …, evidence of the urban life that once abounded here.

The outdoor sites of the baths and the amphitheatre should also form part of any visit.

Real estate, housing, culture and art of living

It reveals our most beautiful references of properties to help you concretize your real estate projects, but also as a true messenger and link between the inhabitants.

It is through its numbers that we want to talk about you, women and men who make the district shine through the actions and initiatives you undertake, for the benefit of others, for the benefit of Cimiez.

The Cimiez Archaeological Museum stands on the remains of the ancient Roman city of Cemenelum. Its collections include mosaics, everyday objects, sculptures and artefacts discovered during excavations around the thermal baths and arena.

The museum offers a fascinating dive into Nice’s Roman past and provides essential context for understanding the archaeological heritage that shapes the identity of Cimiez.
